What Scares Me About DiabetesWhat Scares Me About Diabetes and diabetics Is when I meet a diabetic who thinks: I don’t have to watch my diet as long as I take my pills. My doctor is a professional, I trust him to keep me healthy I must be o.k., I feel o.k. (I felt o.k. right up until I had a stroke) I don’t think diabetes is as dangerous as people tell me. I don’t need to check my sugar levels. Fails to realize the person who is responsible for their health is them. Thinks they can cheat & eat junk all the time without consequences. Or . . . Going blind because you failed to manage yourself. Meeting someone who has already lost body parts & will not change. The thought that millions will get diabetes due to ignorance. Doctors that think prescribing drugs is all they need to do for their patient.
